English as a second language (ESL) classes are designed for individuals 18 and older who want to improve their English language skills for work, family or personal satisfaction.
Students receive instruction to improve reading, writing and conversational skills. For those wishing to prepare for college or vocational programs, the classes help students get the education and skills needed to get to the next level.
Classes are offered on the Wenatchee campus, as well as in many community locations throughout the college district (Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties). Daytime and evening classes are available.

To sign up for a class:
In Wenatchee:
Arrange for an appointment to take the CASAS Placement exam by calling the Wenatchee campus (682.6790 or 682.6796).
After taking the exam, you will receiveyour scores for placement into the appropriate class.
Register at the Wenatchee campus.
Pay $25 tuition.
Go to class.
For off-campus locations:
Go to the class in your area (If you do not know when or where the class meets, call the WVC Adult Basic Skills office at 509.682.6790 to get the information.)
Register and test for placement in class.
Pay $25 tuition.
Go to class.
Tuition for adult basic skills (ABS) classes is $25 per student per quarter.
