Summer Intensive Spanish course offered at WVC this summer
The Wenatchee Valley College Summer Intensive Spanish program will be offered this summer to college students, business people, teachers, public sector personnel and general community members starting at the end of June.
The comprehensive, combined cultural and language-learning experience is equal to one year of Spanish classes in eight weeks.
A minimum of 16 students is needed for the class to run. Registration is open to the public starting June 1, 2009. Current WVC students may start registering May 26.
Joseph Grantham will teach the class from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays from June 29 to Aug. 20. Grantham has taught the Summer Intensive Spanish program for nearly 20 years.
The 15-credit program (Spanish 121, 122 and 123) also fulfills many continuing education requirements and meets most university language requirements. No previous study of Spanish is required.
Along with the fundamental aspects of grammar and the practical usage of Spanish, participants will develop an awareness of the historical backgrounds and cultural differences among various Spanish-speaking groups.
For more information, contact Grantham at 509.682.6792 or jgrantham@wvc.edu.
