Two All-Washington Academic Team scholarships reserved for Wenatchee Valley College students
$750 scholarships AND scholarship award offers to many four-year colleges and universities as a member of the All-Washington Academic Team
Applications due Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, by 5 p.m. in the WVC President’s Office on the Wenatchee campus or to Kit Arbuckle on the Omak campus
Eligibility Requirements:
Enrolled at WVC at least through December 2009.
Have completed at least 48 college-level credit hours by Dec. 31, 2009, and be on track to complete at least 72 college-level credit hours by Aug. 30, 2010. (A minimum of 45 credit hours must have been completed at a community college within the past five years, fall 2004 to the present.)
Have a GPA of 3.5 or above for college-level coursework completed in the last five years.
Have not been nominated to the All-Washington Academic Team in the past.
Application Requirements
Fill out application form available in the WVC President’s Office on the Wenatchee Campus and from Kit Arbuckle on the Omak Campus.
Write an essay of 500 words or fewer (no more than two pages typed and double-spaced) describing your most significant endeavor since attending community college in which you applied your academic or intellectual skills to benefit your school, community or society. The essay topic can focus on an issue such as community service, research, the arts, journalism, public affairs, etc. Judges will consider originality, initiative, degree of difficulty, results, and benefit to society. Please limit your essay to ONE specific endeavor and no more than two, double-spaced typed pages.
Two letters of reference.
