Wenatchee Valley College students to honor veterans
A ceremony to honor Wenatchee Valley College military students, veterans and their family members will take place at the Wenatchee campus on Monday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. in Van Tassell Center. Students and the community are invited to attend the event, which is sponsored by the Associated Students of WVC, the WVC Student Programs office and Intermountain AmeriCorps.
The event will include the singing of the U.S. National Anthem; speakers from the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps; recognition of individual veterans; flag display; Fallen Soldiers Boot display; and Taps played on the bugle by Bob Derry of East Wenatchee.
“This is a way for our students, faculty, staff, and community to express appreciation and gratitude for those who are serving or have served in the military, and to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice,” said Kelly Ketcham, WVC director of student programs.
