Knight Baseball

Bryan Widener
Infield Coach & Assistant Hitting Coach
Season: First Season

Coach Widener comes back to the Valley for his first season as an assistant for the Knights. Widener will work with infielders and assist with the offense. Widener also takes on the role of Western Washington recruiting.

Widener is a former Knight and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Business. In his two years at WVC, he was able to transition from a starting 2nd basemen to an everyday player at Shortstop with a .963 fielding percentage.

In his young journey with coaching, he spent the last two seasons at his alma mater, Bethel High School. After a twenty year playoff drought, Widener was able to be a part of ending that with back to back postseason appearances. Influencing the program with the mindset of winning, Widener was happy to see this 3A program back on the rise moving forward.

Coach Widener is blessed to be a part of the staff and return to his old stomping grounds. The culture and overall presence revolved with the program brought Widener back to this side of the mountains. He is thankful for Coach Clanton, former coach of his, to give him the opportunity to get his feet wet in coaching college baseball.
