Passport to College
How We Support You
Every Passport student has access to individualized support designed to remove barriers and promote success.
Once a student is verified/certified into the Passport to College program, they are eligible for the PTC Promise Scholarship. For the 2026-2027 school year, this scholarship is up to $2,250 for the year, or up to $750 per quarter. The scholarship does require a minimum of 6 credits of enrollment each quarter, and students must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
Your Passport Navigator can assist with:
- College enrollment
- Registration
- FAFSA/WASFA completion
- Financial aid questions
- Academic planning
- Goal setting
- Campus resource navigation
- Career exploration
- Graduation planning
Active Passport to College Participants are given the opportunity to register for their future courses at an earlier date than the rest of the student population.
Eligible students may receive additional assistance with educational expenses including:
- Tuition and fees
- Books and supplies
- Housing
- Transportation
- Technology
- Other educational expenses as permitted through Passport funding
Funding is administered through Financial Aid and varies based on eligibility and financial need.

Your Passport Navigator partners with you to develop a personalized success plan that may include:
- Academic planning
- Financial wellness
- Personal goal setting
- Time management
- Resource referrals
- Career planning
- Graduation preparation
We believe that students in the Passport to College program shouldn't need to worry about having the materials to be a successful student. Our program has purchased basic school supplies that are available to students in the PTC program. Supplies include:
- Backpacks
- Spiral notebooks
- Pens and pencils
- Sticky notes
- Folders
- and much more!

Unexpected situations shouldn't derail your education. Passport to College Scholars with unmet need may be eligible for Emergency Aid to address urgent financial concerns impacting academic success. Scholars must meet with their Passport to College Advisor to apply.
Passport students may be connected with emergency assistance and community resources for issues involving:
- Housing insecurity
- Food insecurity
- Transportation
- Technology
- Emergency financial needs
- Basic needs support
Passport to College Participants can borrow a ChromeBook through our laptop rental service program. They are available to be borrowed on a quarterly basis. If a student's school work requires a laptop more powerful than a ChromeBook, we'll get them connected with resources to help them obtain one.

Our Passport Peer Mentors are current WVC students who:
- Help you connect to campus
- Share strategies for college success
- Encourage involvement
- Provide encouragement throughout the year
- Connect you with resources
