"I am so excited to meet and build relationships with my new students,” Barta said. “I feel very fortunate to be here and be surrounded by like-minded faculty and staff who care so much about student success!"

She holds a Master of Library and Information Sciences from the University of Washington, a Secondary Teaching Certificate and bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from Central Washington University, and an associate degree from WVC.
Previously, she served as Latino Services Manager for NCW Libraries, providing programming, staff training, and bilingual community outreach across five counties. Bovee developed partnerships with school districts and community organizations serving Latino communities, immigrants, English Language Learners, and other underserved populations. Her work included launching “Know Your Rights” resources and workshops in partnership with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, supporting English-language learning, and expanding diverse library programming. Prior to her role at NCW Libraries, she worked as a school librarian and English Language Arts teacher for the Eastmont School District.
As a WVC alumna and former employee, Bovee also worked with CAMP when the program launched in 2009 and, prior to that role, in the Advising and Testing Center. “Coming back to WVC feels like coming back home. I am proud to return to an organization with such an impact on people’s lives, including that of my own family,” Bovee said. "I think human connection is more important than ever in a digital age, and I am excited to be on campus with staff, faculty, and students and collaborating to help people reach their goals. I look forward to helping students see the library as a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone—and I’m also looking forward to reading some new books myself!"

After 11 years away, including time in Montana, Italy, and Minnesota, she is excited to give back to the community that helped launch her career. With four years of college teaching experience and six years working in the trades, Wells loves sharing the endless possibilities of welding—from art and fabrication to construction and inspection.
