Noncredit Nursing Assistant Programs
Begin your journey in healthcare. Our noncredit nursing assistant courses combine practical skills, real-world experience,
and supportive instruction to prepare you for certification and entry-level patient
care roles.
The noncredit CNA Fast-Track course provides the basics in care-giving skills for entry-level employment in healthcare. It includes instruction of personal care skills, roles and responsibilities of nursing assistants, communication skills, and safe and emergency procedures.
This course fulfills the CNA prerequisite for the Wenatchee Valley College nursing program.

- Theory and skills in the classroom/lab
- Clinical experience at a local long-term care facility
- WA DOH Nursing Assistant Certified Credential application
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid
- WA DOH NAC skills exam (first attempt)
*Note that attendance is mandatory for all course elements
- Minimum 80% grade for classroom portion (theory, skills, BLS/First Aid) AND full attendance
- Pass clinical experience competency with skills and safety
- Pass the NAC skills exam
Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the NAC written exam. The written exam (additional cost) is administered by the testing agency Credentia. Students will receive information about this in class.
The full class fee is due at the time of registration. The CNA FastTrack class is noncredit and ineligible for financial aid. There are no payment plan options.
- Needs-based financial assistance may be available for eligible students through the WVC Student Grants Center.
Please note that applying for and security grant funds can take time. It is recommended to begin this process as soon as possible. - Some employers may reimburse or pay for training.
Students seeking financial assistance through grants, employers, or others must secure the funding or submit a completed Commitment to Pay form FastTrack at the time of registration.

Complete the CNA FastTrack application and requirements:
- TB test
- Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
- Current season flu vaccination (fall, winter, and early spring classes)
- DSHS background check authorization
- Complio background check (do not order this more than 45 days before the first day of class)
Details and instructions for these requirements are outlined in the application
Bring completed application and official documentation of all requirements to our office to register for class.
- Incomplete requirements or unofficial documentation will not be accepted
- If requirements are incomplete registration will not be processed
- All elements must be complete in order to register
- Full payment is due at the time of registration, or submit a completed Commitment to Pay form FastTrack from a third party

Waitlist Process
If a class is full, students can bring in their completed paperwork (a grace period
may be extended for background checks) for review. If application and documentation
are in order, you will be added to the waitlist. If a spot becomes available we will
reach out.
- 20+ days before class starts, you will have 3 business days to submit paperwork and register
- 10-19 days before class starts, you will have 2 business days to submit paperwork and register
- Less than 10 days before class starts, you will have 24 hours (not counting weekends/holidays) to submit paperwork and register.
*This program is available to home care aides who can provide proof of active Washington State Home Care Aide Certification.*

This noncredit "bridge" course provides training for Medical Assistants-Certified to transition to CNA. Upon successful completion of the course, this 36-hour training
will allow the certified medical assistant to become eligible to take the Nursing
Assistant Certified exam. The course consists of classroom/lab time as well as clinical
experience at a local long-term care facility.
*This program is available to Washington State Medical Assistants-Certified. Proof
of certification is required.*
