Conduct and CARE

Student CARE Team and Student Conduct

Supporting Students and Promoting a Safe Learning Environment

Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) is committed to supporting the whole student and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for all.

The Student CARE Team focuses on proactive, coordinated support for students facing challenges that may impact their academic or personal success. The Student Conduct process ensures that student rights and responsibilities are upheld when behavior violates the Student Code of Conduct. Together, these efforts help students overcome obstacles, learn from mistakes, and stay on track to achieve their goals.

When to Make a Referral

Submit a Student CARE Referral when you notice:

  • Significant emotional, mental, or physical distress
  • Complex life challenges such as family emergencies, loss, housing or food insecurity
  • Unusual or disruptive behavior
  • Signs of potential harm to self or others

Submit a Student Conduct Report when you notice:

  • Academic misconduct including cheating or plagiarism
  • Hazing or harassment
  • Disruptive, threatening, or unsafe behavior
  • Other alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct

For Immediate Threats:

  • Call 911 if someone’s safety is at immediate risk.
  • For urgent but non-emergency safety concerns, contact Campus Security:
    • Wenatchee Campus: 6911 from on-campus phones or (509) 423 3705 from off-campus phones
    • Omak Campus: 7911 from on-campus phones or (509) 422 7911 from off-campus phones

How the Process Works

  1. Submit a Report online
    Report Student CARE Referral
    Report Student Misconduct
Report Sexual Violence or Harassment (Title IX)
Report an Accident or Incident (Word doc)
  2. CARE Process: The Student CARE Team reviews concerns and connects students with supportive resources such as counseling, academic support, or emergency assistance.
  3. Conduct Process: The Student Conduct Officer investigates alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct and, if necessary, assigns educational sanctions or disciplinary actions.
  4. Follow Up: Students receive outreach, referrals, and support, and WVC monitors progress to ensure safety and success.
