Poet Chris Dombrowski will give a poetry reading accompanied by singer-songwriter Jeffrey Foucault on guitar at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in The Grove Recital Hall, new Music and Art Center, on the Wenatchee Valley College campus. The performance is free and open to the public.

"Poetry in the company of music is like truth getting hitched to beauty," said Derek Sheffield, WVC English faculty. Sheffield coordinates the Visiting Writers Project on the Wenatchee campus.

Dombrowski is the author of two books of poetry, By Cold Water, a finalist for Foreword Magazine's Poetry Book of the Year, and Earth Again, both from Wayne State University Press. His poems have appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including Beloit Poetry Journal, Crazyhorse, Denver Quarterly, Gulf Coast, Making Poems, Poetry and Orion. His awards include an AWP Intro Award, Alligator Juniper's National Poetry Prize and a writing fellowship from the UCross Foundation. He has also published essays and articles that chronicle his seventeen summers as a river guide in the West. He lives with his family in Missoula, Mont.

Wisconsin native and folk/Americana musician Jeffrey Foucault has released five albums, including his most recent, Horse Latitudes in 2011. Foucault's music is often described as poetic, honest and haunting, and his style is often compared to Bruce Springsteen, Townes Van Zandt and Neil Young.
