Over the past 48 hours, the Carlton Complex Fire has impacted many of our neighbors, friends, WVC staff and students who have experienced tremendous personal losses, including the loss of their houses to this fast-moving wildfire. We are concerned about all the disastrous wildfires in north central Washington and their impact on our friends and communities.

The WVC Campuses will remain open and classes will resume on Monday. Counselors will be onsite at the Omak Campus on Monday to provide services as needed to students and staff. We continue to monitor the fire situation and will provide updates as needed. Please continue to refer to the WVC web site for updates on college activities in the coming days.

At this time, the best way to assist those impacted by the fire is through monetary donations to organizations that specialize in supporting local disasters, like the Red Cross, who is supporting the immediate needs of the victims and firefighters. The Community Foundation of North Central Washington has also established a fire relief fund for long-term assistance.
