WVC Theater Department presents The Games Afoot

The Wenatchee Valley College Theater Department presents an evening of murder, comedy and holiday cheer with The Games Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays, by Ken Ludwig. The play will run December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. in the WVC Campus Theater, Wells Hall.

General admission is $10. Admission for seniors and students is $8. Tickets are available at the door.

The Games Afoot takes place on Christmas Eve, 1936. Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turns dangerous. Then it's up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this hilarious whodunit.

The cast includes Ryan Harris as William Gillette, Carissa Climer as Martha Gillette, Brennam Richardson as Felix Geisel, Whitney Killoran as Madge Geisel, Elise Barger as Aggie Wheeler, Clint Barke as Simon Bright, Romaine Doty as Inspector Gorin, and Sarah Hall as Daria Chase. WVC instructor Marcus Bingham is the artistic director of the production.

The Games Afoot won the 2012 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Mystery Play.
