Nationally recognized artist Len Davis will have an exhibition at the Robert Graves Gallery at Wenatchee Valley College from March 28 through April 29. The artist’s reception is Friday, April 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. The community is invited to a presentation by Davis that starts at 6 p.m.
Davis works in assemblages, collages, drawings and works on paper. On his website, he explains, “I like mixed media because of the outcome of combining several elements, creating various textures and color to evoke a thought and mood in the stories I tell. It’s like a pizza with everything on it. Once you take that first bite, you’re inundated with flavor. And that’s what I strive for in my work.”
Davis was born in Philadelphia, Penn., but is now based in California. He has had solo and group exhibitions throughout the U.S., from Florida to New York, Massachusetts to California. Davis has worked on set designs for film and television, including “The Affair,” “Two And A Half Men,” “Last Man Standing,” “Criminal Minds,” “House M.D.” and the film Danny Collins. His work has also been featured in numerous publications, most recently in the Winston-Salem Journal and Columbia Magazine, and several times in Kolaj Magazine.
The Robert Graves Gallery, located in Sexton Hall, is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The exhibition is sponsored by the WVC Student Senate.
