In light of the governor’s higher education proclamation last month and of the concerning new data surrounding the COVID-19 Delta variant, WVC has made the decision to require vaccines for students enrolled in in-person classes.

WVC students are required to be fully vaccinated prior to the first day of class on Monday, Sept. 27. Students must document their vaccination status by that date by using our free online documentation tool, which will be available beginning August 16. Waivers are available for medical, religious or philosophical reasons. 

At this time, masks are required for everyone whenever they are in WVC buildings, regardless of vaccination status.

We don’t make these decisions lightly. Throughout the entire pandemic, our goal has always been to put the safety and health of our students and employees first.

Vaccines are available widely for free throughout Washington. WVC is hosting vaccine clinics on both campuses this month for students, employees and the public. View all the details at wvc.edu/News.

For more information on the vaccination and masking requirements and other COVID-19 prevention efforts, see the frequently asked questions (FAQ) section at wvc.edu/PublicHealth. WVC will notify students and employees of any changes to requirements promptly.

Remember that campus will be reopening fully this September before the start of fall quarter. Online resources will be available at wvc.edu/Online. We are excited to offer more in-person and hybrid options, in addition to flexible, online-only classes.
