WVC offers vaccine incentive awards for vaccinated students

We are excited to announce the WVC Vaccine Incentive Program to keep our campus safe and healthy! Our goal is to help increase the number of vaccinated people in our state and protect our community. Thanks to funding from the Washington State COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive Program, eligible WVC students may receive monetary awardsfor having a COVID-19 vaccination.

Student Eligibility

Students who are eligible for the incentive program will be automatically included in the selection process – no need to apply!

To be eligible, a student must meet all the following criteria:

  • Completed six or more credits during spring quarter 2021.
  • Enroll for fall quarter 2021 at WVC.
  • Provide proof that they have received at least one shot of their COVID-19 Vaccine Regimen or register to receive the vaccine during the WVC clinic on August 18.
  • Be a Washington State Resident

Note: Because vaccines are available to anyone age 12+, Running Start and dual-credit students are eligible.

How it Works

WVC will award $1,000 to 10 randomly selected eligible students for fall quarter 2021. The randomly selected students will be contacted to provide proof of their vaccine status and residency.

Selection Process

Students who are selected will be contacted via student email and phone (if available). Students have five (5) business days to respond. They may either make an appointment to participate in a Zoom call or in-person meeting. An authorized WVC employee will visually verify the student’s vaccination record (no copies of medical documentation will be kept).

Once verified, the student must complete the acceptance form. After the student signs the acceptance form, the $1,000 award will be credited to their WVC student account before the beginning of fall quarter 2021. Recipients must be enrolled for fall quarter 2021 before funds will be credited to their account.

Important note: Acceptance of a vaccine incentive award may affect a student’s eligibility for and calculated amounts of federal financial aid and/or public assistance programs. Work with the WVC financial aid department to determine how your aid may be impacted.
