Wenatchee Valley College was awarded over $700,000 in Career Launch equipment grants for three of its six Career Launch endorsed programs: drafting, industrial electronics, and environmental systems and refrigeration technology.

The funds will be used to purchase equipment for each of the three programs to support student learning. Industrial electronics will purchase six-axis industrial robots with vision systems and PLC-controlled tabletop mechatronic stations for students to learn how to program and operate real-world mechatronic systems. A Matrice surveying drone and Leica ScanStation will enhance students' hands-on experience in the drafting certificate program, and portable Building Automation and Direct Digital Control training units will be purchased for environmental systems and refrigeration technology.

WVC’s Career Launch endorsement programs include automotive technology, drafting, environmental systems and refrigeration technology, machining technology, industrial technology-electronics, and the Bachelor of Applied Science-engineering technology.

Career Launch is part of the Career Connect Washington initiative and provides students with real-life work experience related to their classroom studies. The programs help students graduate with competitive job market skills.
