The day will begin with an Earth Day 5K or 1K Fun Run on WVC’s Wenatchee campus at 9:30 a.m. (register at Sustainable NCW’s website). Activities will continue with Sustainable NCW’s bike co-op where participants can learn about bike maintenance, an e-cycling center for people to drop off approved older electronics, and a tree campus tour with WVC Professor Jennifer Hadersberger.
A series of Eco-Talks will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will cover a wide variety of topics, including Helion fusion plans, innovative construction materials, Eastside Rebuild, and more. Each talk will include a Q&A session.
The Wenatchee Valley Youth Symphony, along with musical groups from Wenatchee High School, Pinnacles Prep, and Eastmont High School, will perform at the fair throughout the day.
Kids activities will be available, and children and families can take part in a TEAMS Learning Center, get creative with chalk art, enjoy a wildlife experience, and more. There will be a variety of food trucks with vendors making use of Towards Zero Waste practices, which includes using compostable serving ware. A Towards Zero Waste station will be available for participants to deposit recyclable and compostable items.
The fair will also feature a silent auction of sustainable experiences and items, with proceeds benefiting Sustainable NCW. A variety of electric vehicles, a hydrogen vehicle, an all-electric tractor, and a Link Transit electric bus will be on display during the fair.
Wenatchee Valley College is a bike-friendly campus, and attendees are encouraged to travel via Link Transit or alternative modes of transportation if they are able to. Parking will be free for the Earth Day Fair. For more information, visit www.sustainablencw.org/earth-day-fair.

“I’m delighted that this year’s Sustainable NCW Earth Day Fair will be held on our beautiful Wenatchee campus. Our community will have the opportunity to see the amazing work our college and local organizations do every day to create a more sustainable environment across North Central Washington,” said WVC President Faimous Harrison. “Sustainable NCW’s Earth Day Fair is a landmark event that brings our community together to celebrate the stewardship of our planet and Wenatchee Valley College is honored to welcome you onto our campus for the next chapter of this event!”
WVC will continue the celebrations of nature on Earth Day itself on Tuesday, April 22 and Zero Waste Wednesday on April 23 with poetry readings, nature hikes, a clothing swap, and more.
