WVC to honor National Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29

In honor of the 50
th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, Wenatchee Valley College will host a National Vietnam War Veterans Day event on Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center on the Wenatchee campus. The college invites the community to come together and pay tribute to the brave men and women who served during the Vietnam War. 

This event honors the service and sacrifice of Vietnam War veterans and nurses, marking a day of recognition for their courage and dedication. Special guests will include the Mayor of Wenatchee Mike Poirier, Mayor of East Wenatchee Jerrilea Crawford, the Wenatchee Valley Symphony, the Wenatchee Apollo Club, and the American Legion.  

The event will include wreath-laying and flag-folding ceremonies, a prayer for the fallen, honoring Vietnam-era nurses, and supportive resources about PTSD, agent orange, and suicide-prevention.  

The Apollo Club and Wenatchee Valley Symphony will perform, and the Color and Honor Guards from the Wenatchee Valley VFW and the American Legion will present colors during the program. Mayors Poirier and Crawford will present a 50th anniversary pin to qualifying veterans in attendance. 

This event is a partnership between Wenatchee Valley College, American Legion Post 10, and VFW Post 3617.
