Alternative Fuel Vehicle Event

WVC Hosts Alternative Fuel Vehicle Event Oct. 15

Wenatchee Valley College will host a National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 15. The event showcases alternative transportation vehicles and technologies from local, regional and national entities.

Vehicles will be on display around the campus fountain in the center of campus. Speakers and displays will be in Van Tassel Center to the west of the fountain.

Display highlights include:
  • A guest speaker and presentation from Link Transit.
  • A display and speaker from the American Hydrogen Association.
  • Commuter Cars will display a Tango.
  • Plug In America will display a Tesla.
  • Brooks Solar will display a 2002 Toyota Echo converted to electric.
  • Wenatchee Electric Vehicle Association will display several hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Lake Chelan school district will display a plug-in hybrid electric-biodiesel school bus.
  • Stemilt Growers will display an electric fork lift.
  • WSU Tree Fruit Research Center will display a Bearfoot electric ATV used for work in orchards.
  • Panhandle Electric Vehicle Association will display electric motorcycles and a car.
  • A new Navistar all-electric 2-ton medium duty truck will be on display.
  • Vehicle manufacturers will display their latest offerings of flex fuel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
