WVC Alumni Association launches quarterly alumni networking social Oct. 22

The Wenatchee Valley College Alumni Association will host the first of a series of quarterly alumni networking socials on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tastebuds Wine & Coffee (212 Fifth Street, Wenatchee). The quarterly networking socials are designed to provide WVC graduates an opportunity to network and build connections with each other, and to stay connected to WVC after they graduate. Alumni are encouraged to bring business cards to share.

"Alumni are the future of Wenatchee Valley College," said Sara Lippert, chair of the WVC Alumni Association and WVC Foundation board member. "There is no time like the present to reach out to alumni of WVC and reconnect them to the college, while at the same time helping them connect with each other."

"Alumni associations nationwide have been active with four-year higher education institutions for many years, and community colleges are quickly realizing that they need to cultivate and build life-long relationships with their alumni," Lippert said.

WVC Foundation executive director Stacey Lockhart believes that alumni can collectively support WVC by being a voice at the community and state level. "Alumni often serve as volunteers at events, as career mentors to students, provide internship opportunities, speak to classes that are related to their career path, and together can be the largest combined source of financial support when they give back to their college on an annual basis," Lockhart said. "Once a WVC Knight, you are always a WVC Knight no matter where life takes you."
