Wenatchee Valley College Athletic Department and the WVC Foundation are partnering for a virtual Athletics Giving Week Nov. 14-18.

The goals of the week are to raise awareness about WVC athletics and to raise funds for student athletes. Donations will go to support student athlete scholarships and help cover travel and food costs for athletics teams. Donations can be made on the fundraising page.

Per state guidelines, community college athletes can receive maximum scholarship funding up to 65% of the cost of tuition. Only about 30% receive the maximum amount. Funds from the giving week will go to support those who have not received the full amount.

Team travel costs are on the rise. When teams qualify for post-season play, travel costs must be covered through fundraising and donations.

As food costs increase, donations can help reduce out-of-pocket expenses for students, ensuring they have access to proper nutrition on and off the road.

The virtual week will be promoted on all athletics social media channels, including Facebook (fb.com/WenatcheeValleyCollegeAthletics), Instagram (@wvc_knights) and Twitter (@WVC_Knights).
