Icicle Brewing Company selects WVC Foundation as charity for February

The Wenatchee Valley College Foundation is the chosen charity for Icicle Brewing Company's Benevolent Beer program for the month of February. Each time the WVC beer of the month, Bootjack IPA, is purchased during the month of February, the Foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds.

In addition, special events will take place each Tuesday of the month at Icicle Brewing Company from 6 to 9 p.m., including:

Tuesday, Feb. 4, WVC Alumni Networking Social and Poetry Night: WVC English professor Derek Sheffield will host a reading from the college's literary journal, Mirror Northwest, and an open mic poetry reading. Featured readers include Cynthia Neely, Chrysania Monroe, Owen Sheets, Sue Sampson, Marcus Bingham and Gloria Roberson. The community is invited to participate in the reading. Bring one to three poems to read (not more than seven minutes' worth of material) and sign up at the door.

Copies of Mirror Northwest will be available for purchase and contributors will be on hand for a signing.

Tuesday, Feb. 11, WVC Family Movie Night: Bring the entire family to cheer on the Dalmatian puppies as they outwit the scheming Cruella De Vil in Disney's 101 Dalmatians.

Tuesday, Feb. 18, Game Night: WVC student athletes and coaches will be on site to play games. Visit with WVC basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and soccer athletes, meet the coaches and have fun playing a variety of games.

Tuesday, Feb. 25, Trivia Night: Get your team together and match wits with WVC alumni, students and faculty.
