WVC offers spring-quarter brewing course

Wenatchee Valley College will offer a five-credit, spring-quarter Humanities and Brewing course for those 21 years of age and older.

Humanities and Brewing: A Cultural and Historical Perspective teaches students about brewing history, culture and application, from the ancient origins of brewing to the modern development of the brewing industry, as well as the recent proliferation of whole-grain micro-brewing. Students will relate the social and scientific aspects of brewing to practical applications of whole-grain brewing.

The course is held Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, April 11 and 25, May 9 and 30, and June 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The course is co-taught by WVC humanities faculty Jack Johnson and chemistry faculty Shane Hendrickson.
