WVC Center for Entrepreneurship sponsors cooperative marketing seminar April 18 - Event Cancelled

The Wenatchee Valley College Center for Entrepreneurship will host a fun and informative seminar, “Cooperative Marketing: A Case Study of the Lake Chelan Wine Industry” on Wednesday, April 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Van Tassell Center on the Wenatchee campus. The seminar will help businesses learn how their industry can benefit from the cooperation of cross-industry partners to maximize marketing efforts.

The speaker’s panel includes Erin McCardle, a marketing expert who has achieved impressive returns in Chelan; Guy Evans, current treasurer for the Lake Chelan Wine Grower’s Association; and Don Phelps, owner-operator of The Hard Row to Hoe Winery. They will present their own case study, offer tips and explain how to avoid missteps that are applicable to all industries. They will give real life business examples of how the Lake Chelan area became a successful American Viticultural Area (AVA) through the efforts of 15 wineries and by reaching out to other businesses.

Bonnie Waudé, WVC Program Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship explains, “Marketing budgets for most small businesses are small. By finding industry partners, auxiliary enterprises and trade organizations pertinent to their industry, small businesses can maximize budget dollars and achieve a much larger return on their modest investment.”

Cost is $25 and includes samples of wine from Chelan Valley area wineries. To register, go to ced.wvc.edu or call 509.682.6900.

In addition to this seminar, the Center for Entrepreneurship is currently offering online and evening classes tailored for the busy business owner. Some of the course offerings include “Using Social Media Effectively for your Business,” “Introduction to Entrepreneurship: Is Starting Your Own Business For You?” and “The Worst Kept Secret about Marketing: Practical Tools to Successful Marketing.”

“Wenatchee Valley College Center for Entrepreneurship can help connect you with the right resources and get not only your business but your chosen industry off to the right start,” said Waudé.
