Virtual Graduation

Attention all 2020 graduates. Please see your student email for more information about the 2020 graduation plan. Questions? Contact the WVC Campus Life office at (509) 682-6860 or

June 12 will be your last opportunity to pick up your cap and gown. We will be available from 8:30am until noon, and again from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Due to limited access to campus, this day and times are the only opportunity to get your cap and gown.

This is for those that ordered from Oak Hall, or those that have purchased one from Campus Life.

If you have not yet purchased a cap and gown but would like to, please follow the steps below:

  1. Call the cashier and pay the $15 - 509-682-6500
  2. Email campus life (only after your payment has been made)
    1. Provide your first and last name
    2. Provide your height
    3. Provide your approximate weight (this is required in order for us to locate the correct sized gown)
  3. Come to the Sexton parking lot on the 12th of June during one of the timeframes noted above

How do I participate in Virtual Graduation?

We know that you have probably heard it said so many times...especially lately, but check your student email! This is very important, as it is the only way that you will be able to access the information that will allow you to participate in the virtual ceremony.

(If you no longer enrolled because you already completed your degree in a prior quarter,  you will not have access to your student email. In that case, we will be using the personal email that you had on file with the admissions office.)

All students that submitted an application for graduation this year will be included in the virtual graduation ceremony. Your name and degree/certificate that you applied for have already been entered. You will have the ability to input a message (it can be a thank you message, and message of encouragement to your classmate, etc.). Additionally, you will have the option of uploading a 17-second video...again, it is up to you as to what you say.

Very in the next couple of days, you will be receiving an email that will provide you with a link that will allow you to do both the message and the it right away, because you have a short window for participating!

How to Apply for Your Degree or Certificate

You should apply for your degree certificate as soon as you have registered for your final quarter. Deadlines are listed below. The "Application for Degree/Certificate" form is available at the front counter at the admission/registration office in student services or below in PDF format.

Please note that completing the application process is the only way to have your degree or certificate recorded on your transcript at WVC.  It does not obligate you to go through the Commencement Ceremony held each June.

Submit the Application for Degree/Certificate to the front counter of the admissions office.

The evaluation process for graduation applications begins after grades have been posted on the students' transcripts. You will be notified whether or not you have met all the requirements for graduation after grades have been posted. Diplomas will be mailed to the student six to eight weeks after grades have been posted. Graduation applications submitted after the quarterly deadline will be held and processed in the following quarter.

Attach the receipt of payment to the Application for Degree/Certificate form and return it to the admissions/registration office. The diploma will arrive in two to three weeks.
