  4. Join us online for the Virtual Graduation Ceremony!

This year's commencement ceremony will be virtual. What does that mean? It means that since we are not able to come together face-to-face, we have partnered with StageClip in order to recognize and honor your achievements.

As in a typical ceremony, we will have speeches, acknowledgments, congratulatory messages and more. Each graduate that chooses to participate will have their name, degree/certificate, picture and/or personal video, and a message of congratulations or gratitude put on a slide, and announced. Additionally, you will be able to interact with fellow students, offer shout-outs and congratulations during the viewing! The virtual ceremony is for you, your family, your friends, and your classmates to acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments "together", even though you may be apart.

Graduates that wish to participate in the virtual commencement ceremony will be required to upload a picture and/or video for their student slide. Your name and degree/certificate will be automatically entered based on your Application for Degree/Certificate.

To register to participate in the virtual graduation ceremony, you will need to complete all of the following:

We appreciate each and every student that chooses to participate. We love to put a face to your name! By participating you allow us to celebrate you! All graduates that registered by the deadline, and who upload a picture/video, will receive a gift to show our gratitude for your participation.

Want a virtual cap and gown? Use the WVC Cap & Gown Snapchat filter

Since we will not be coming together face-to-face for the Commencement ceremony, you will not be required to purchase a cap and gown in order to participate. However, if you wish to purchase graduation regalia for pictures and/or memorabilia, you are welcome to!

Oak Hall Cap & Gown (click link to go to order page) is the chosen vendor for WVC graduation regalia. Your cap, gown, and tassel are included in your purchase. Additionally, you will have the option of purchasing a souvenir tassel, and/or choose from a variety of stoles.

All orders will be shipped directly to your home. Campus Life will not be providing any caps and/or gowns, and there will be no distribution from the campus this year.

***UPDATE: Oak Hall is currently experiencing a delay in order processing, therefore, at this time, we would advise that you seek a different vendor (any cap and gown vendor of your choosing is acceptable - please refer to the appropriate colors in the 'Cap & Gown' section below)

  • WVC regalia is solid black, with a black and silver strand tassel.
  • WVC Nursing regalia is solid white, with a solid white tassel.

CB Grad (click to go to order page) is the chosen vendor for graduation announcements. Ordering announcements is optional.

  • You should apply for your degree certificate as soon as you have registered for your final quarter. Deadlines are listed below. The "Application for Degree/Certificate" form is available in fillable-PDF format
    • NOTE: Completing the application process is the only way to have your degree or certificate recorded on your transcript at WVC. It does not obligate you to go through the Commencement Ceremony held each June
  • Submit the Application for Degree/Certificate via email: registration@wvc.edu

  • The evaluation process for graduation applications begins after grades have been posted on the student transcript
    • You will be notified whether or not you have met all the requirements for graduation after grades have been posted

  • Diplomas will be mailed to the address on file, eight to ten weeks after grades have been posted
    • Graduation applications submitted after the quarterly deadline will be held and processed in the following quarter
